At CJUK, we pride ourselves on providing a positive work environment and strive to achieve excellence, offering the best possible service to our candidates and clients as a result.
We have received various awards and accolades over the past few years which demonstrate our commitment to looking after our people and making a real difference in the hospitality industry:
Investors in People – Accredited Gold until 2020
CJUK has been awarded the Gold accreditation in the Investors in People (IiP) framework until 2020 and we are one of only four hospitality businesses in the UK to be awarded this status.
We placed 10th out of 70 companies who were eligible to be ranked in the Gold Employer of the Year category, recognised for our commitment to creating an empowering workplace for our staff and a positive corporate social responsibility within our community.
Best Candidate Experience Award
In 2016 we won Best Candidate Experience at the IRP Awards, and were shortlisted Best Company to Work For at the IRP Awards 2017.
CJUK’s Head of Talent & Operations, Susannah Lawson, secured the award for going the extra mile and for her passion for providing an excellent service, taking a personal interest in her candidate’s needs.
Recruiter Investing in Talent Award Winners
CJUK won the ‘Best Workforce Temporary Care’ award 2017 based on our care for the future careers of our chefs, with the development of an Employee Assistance Programme supporting mental health and depression.
We were also commended on our constant communication between our talent team and our chefs and clients.
BIBAs Family Business of the Year 2019
The Cummins Mellor group of businesses won the BIBAs (Be Inspired Business Awards) Family Business of the Year 2019.
We won the award due to being a “vibrant and exciting enterprise with a clear vision and plan, underpinned by a strong family ethos.”
We were also finalists in the Growth Business of the Year category!
REC Member
We are a member of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation, which represents more than 3,500 recruitment businesses and more than 10,500 individual recruiters through its Institute of Recruitment Professionals.
Our Managing Director, Michelle, is also on the REC Board and takes part in various events and discussions with other industry thought leaders to help shape the future of recruitment.
Maintaining and improving industry standards is a pivotal part of the work the REC do, and all members have to pass the mandatory Compliance test which ensures we conduct ourselves ethically and adhere to the best practice.
Employee Assistance Programme – Hospitality Action
CJUK have teamed up with Hospitality Action to offer an Employee Assistance Programme to chefs for free confidential advice, support and assistance.
Depression and addiction are big problems in the hospitality industry, and although our staff can empathise, we wanted to put something in place that could make a real difference.
We also work closely with our nationwide client base to really understand their business, allowing us to tailor the perfect solution to their needs and to provide the most suitable chefs.

I was ready to leave the industry before joining CJUK. Being a CJUK Chef has re-ignited my passion for food! I have a much better work-life balance.
