Congratulations to our hardworking CJUK Chef, Angus, who was recognised as our ‘Chef of the Month’ for June 2018!
We asked him a few questions about his some of his experiences whilst being a chef and being part of our brigade…
How long have you been a Chef for?
Since I was 22, so about 25 years!
Why did you become a Chef?
I experimented at a young age and got a real taste for it.
What is your favourite dish to cook and why?
Ribeye steak meadium rare with good pepper sauce fondant potatoes & fresh veg- because it ticks all my boxes.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever been asked to cook?
Camel. However, the worst thing I have tasted was guinea-pig…
Have you ever cooked for a celebrity?
The Princess Royal (Princess Ann).
What is the best job you have ever had?
Working at Deepdale because I’m a Preston fan!
What is the best thing about being a Chef?
Just basically look after yourself. It’s not an industry that stands still and there’s always new ideas/different styles. The industry is always evolving!
What is your guilty pleasure?
Sticky toffee pudding!
