Interim Sous Chef – £12-£13ph – 4* Inn

Located in North Yorkshire, this small Hotel is looking for a highly qualified Sous Chef to help run their busy kitchen. The site is an old coaching inn and still retains the open fires and wooden beams, which creates lovely surroundings to dine in.

The restaurant operates at a high standard and they have a real focus on creating seasonal dishes using the best Yorkshire produce they can find. The ideal candidate will pay close attention to detail and be happy to assist in designing menus using said ingredients. They must be confident in looking after more junior team members and happy to take control of the kitchen on the Head Chef’s days off.

As an Interim Sous Chef your role may include;

• Working under the Head Chef to meet high standards that have been set
• Be involved in working across the diverse kitchen which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner under the direction of the Head Chef
• Be able to help develop new ideas for the menus
• Be able to run the kitchen when the head chef is away

The ideal Interim Sous Chef must;

• Have been working within a similar role for two years
• Fully understand fresh ingredients and how they can work together
• Be competent in creating menus and being able to train other staff
• Have a high standard of food preparation and be able to deal with high volumes of orders
• Maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment
