Established in 1837 Hospitality Action, the Hospitality Industry Benevolent Organisation has offered vital assistance to all who work or have worked within hospitality in the UK and who find themselves in crisis.
They support people who are suffering from life altering illnesses, poverty, bereavement and domestic violence as well as those who have retired and may be feeling isolated.
The money they raise goes towards grants for essential items including food, equipment and central heating, supporting many isolated and lonely retired hospitality workers and running educational seminars advising catering students of the dangers of drug and alcohol misuse.
At CJUK, we are always striving to improve our chef’s experience and understand that working in the hospitality industry, whilst rewarding, can be very demanding.
As a result, we have teamed up with Hospitality Action to offer all candidates a free and confidential Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
About our EAP
Our chefs have access to free advice, counselling, legal support, financial grants and much more through our EAP. Statistics show that the most common reasons for them using the service is down to addictive behaviours, anxiety and depression.
Many of our chefs have taken advantage of the benefit over the past couple of years, helping them to get back into work and to battle their anxiety and addictions.
The service is totally free for our chefs and completely confidential. Nobody at CJUK will ever know they have used the service unless they want to tell us. There is no limit to the amount of times they can contact the EAP and help is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
