On Thursday the 25th of April, we launched a brand new initiative throughout the Cummins Mellor family.
Our very own wellbeing-warriors Anya, Jodie-Lou and Sammie have gotten together and found a new way to maintain a happy, healthy workplace environment for all members of staff.
The Workplace Wellbeing Champions initiative has been specifically designed and implemented to improve employee engagement and enhance staff productivity, in the most stress-free ways possible.
The initiative has been introduced due to an increased awareness of the importance of wellbeing in all aspects of life, not just the workplace.
A recent study from mentalhealth.org has revealed that 1 in 6 people are experiencing mental health problems in the workplace, and evidence suggests that 12.7% of all sickness absence days in the UK can be attributed to mental health conditions.
These figures are alarming to any business and we feel it is our duty to keep our staff mentally happy and content with their workplace environment, every single day.
To kick off the scheme, we have decided to start with the Step To Work Challenge.
The aim is to climb the stairs up to the office, in stead of catching the lift, with the intentions of improving our cardio-vascular fitness, and promoting a healthier lifestyle both physically and mentally.
We hope to continue adding more introductions to the office, as well as hosting daytime events and friendly competitions between the staff.
