April’s Chef of the Month: A Catch Up with Joanne

Congratulations to our interim Chef, Joanne, who has been awarded our ‘Chef of the Month’ for April 2019!

A few words from the team:

“Joanne has always had such a professional presence when working, and is already a fantastic addition to our brigade. She is talented, passionate, and always ready for the job. Congratulations Joanne! You deserve every second of recognition.”

 

We couldn’t wait to phone Joanne congratulating her on the news, and to find out some interesting facts about her career.

 

How long have you been in the hospitality industry for?

I’ve been in the industry nearly 20 years.

 

What made you want to become a Chef?

I’m lucky that I grew up in a family where cooking was always important and a big part of family life, it only seemed natural to do what I loved as a career.

 

Have you ever cooked for a celebrity, or well-known person?

Oh, I have cooked for lots of celebrities! Paddy McGuinnes, Freddie Flintoff, Premier League footballers like Wayne Rooney, I also did the 50th birthday party of Cheshire Housewife Star Stacy Forsey, so other stars like Leanne Brown and Seema Mathora were there. There’s definitely still lots more!

 

What is your favourite thing about working in the industry?

I love the freedom and variety you get working with an agency. 

 

What is your guilty pleasure in food?

Thai food is my favourite but just like most chefs, I just love food in general! It is my favourite hobby as well as my career!

 

What three words sum up why you work for CJUK?

Freedom

Variety
