Our 21st Annual Awards Ceremony: All The Info

Written on 02-May-2019

We recently hosted our 21st annual awards ceremony throughout the business, complete with staff-recognition awards, and rounded off with a meal to A Mano to celebrate.

With two fabulous guest speakers, individual speeches from all the directors, and the official launch of our new Wellbeing Workplace Champions initiative, the annual meeting was a huge success.

The awards played a key part in the meeting, recognising all the amazing work our staff do daily.

Here are some of the people whose work was especially recognised:

Beckie Livesey, Head of Marketing & Communications – Best Newcomer (CJUK)

Kevin Whatmough, Apprentice Administration Assistant (now Safeguarding Executive) – Best Newcomer (Personnel Checks)

Anya Ryan, Recruiter – Most Improved Performance 2019 (CJUK)

James Parkinson, Licensing Advisor – Customer Service Champion (Personnel Checks)

Amy Hutcheson, Senior Consultant – Sales Person of The Year (Cummins Mellor)

Caroline Montague, Accounts – Going The Extra Mile

Tracey Beveridge, Head of HR & Compliance – Player’s Player

Cummins Mellor – Division of The Year

Guest speaker, Caroline Dakin, from Caroline Dakin Associates, spoke to us about the importance of resilience, and how to protect our bodies and minds from stress.

She gave an interactive and engaging talk about how to deal with effects of stress, and how we can recognise the signs within ourselves and others. With her help, we have expanded our knowledge on how to be the best at work, and how to maintain a healthy and calm workplace environment.

This inspiring talk tied in perfectly with the official launch of our new Workplace Wellbeing Champions scheme. The initiative, brought to life by our very own Sammie, Jodie-Lou and Anya, has been introduced with keeping and improving a better workplace environment for all employees.

With space-hoppers in the office, a new ‘quiet corner’ and at-desk cycling machines, the initiative is expected to raise the workplace wellbeing, and continue to make our group of companies an even better environment to work in.

As well as improving on what we can do for ourselves as a family, we were also blessed with having a great speech from Hannah at Blackburn Youth Zone.

As official patrons for the charitable youth hub, we love to work closely with them regularly, and Hannah gave a great talk about how the £15k we helped raise for them at our annual Quiz Quest, which took place back in November, has helped the young people of Blackburn.

She also went on to stress the importance of help from businesses like ours, and how much our support means to them.

With this year’s AGM sparking a wealth of positivity, healthy initiatives and inspiring talks, we can only hope next year’s is just as much of a success for our business.
